Fun show last night at Murpheys and great meeting you and Paulette; to bad most of the people in the joint were more interested in drinking and yapping than listening to the great sounds of real pros. They were clueless, but for me it was an an honor, a treat & more importantly a whole lot of fun, and that’s all that counts. All I can say is "Wow," you are a terrific singer. I live in SoCal and out west we don’t hear many Doo Wop singing groups anymore. I’m sure glad that you and Harmony Street and the other groups you have sung with, all keep the music of the 50’s and 60’s alive. I luckily ran across your music on YouTube yesterday. You have (had?) a great group. I enjoyed the clips immensely. You personally could have stepped in the ring with Johnny Maestro at any time and thereafter held your own. I grew up in Westbury on LI and would, at every opportunity, go for a few shooters at a Rock & Roll bar in Farmingdale. They had a group that played there called the 4 Rays. They were excellent and performed a few great songs by the Earls. I’m surprised that the somewhat older bar didn’t collapse when they would do Never… In the early sixties I bought a white Fender Stratocaster from some guy in Queens. While I was buying the guitar, the seller mentioned that it was at one time owned by one of the Crests. Anyway I could find out who that gentleman/owner might have been. I can only guess that I went to this house in the vicinity of Jamacia. Thangx, Tom O

I live in Augusta,GA, but I am originally from the Hudson Valley of New York and grew up there in the 50’s and 60’s. So Doo Wop music is in my DNA. I’ve been trying for the last few years to convince the Augusta Symphony to feature Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners here in one of their "Pops At The Bell" concerts. They featured the Diamonds a few years ago. I have been working with Nick to keep them in front of the Augusta Symphony General Manager. There is no doubt about it, the Skyliners are, hands down, the very best at what they do.

"Where Do We Go From Here" is at the top of my list, too, and Gene and I have discussed it more than once. I think his vocals are perfection on that song. They're all great, and I, like you, love everything they ever recorded. The very first time I heard "My True Story" in1961, they became my favorite group, and Gene my favorite male vocalist. Thank you for the kind comments you made about me. They are much appreciated. My eyes are half shut - way beyond my bedtime. lol GREAT JOB!!!

Let me start out by saying, I just finished listening to your interview

with Lola and the Saints. In my opinion, one of the best interviews I have ever heard and very entertaining and informative. In other

words I just loved it and with your permission I would like to run

it live Friday night. You know they are one of my favorite groups out there today. I was the first guy to play Forever In Love. That

song like you said was a grand slam. Thanks for a great show there

Mike ! it was like being in a time capsule ! Your interview with Stan gave me goosebump's ! It sounded like my life story I reminded Stan when we were all stuck in Jim Gribble's studio for two day's because of a snow storm . Stan Vicent was there,the Dell-Satins, I don't think we slept. Just kept singing. That had to be 1962 Lot's of laugh's and harmony.Thank's for these Interviews, they mean a lot to me.
